Why watch? Preseason All-ACC performer Malcolm Brogdon, who has led UVa. in scoring in each of the past three games, ranks second on the team at 13.3 points per game. Brogdon's single-game season high is 20 points (vs. Boston College and La Salle) and he has 10 or more points in 14 games. He ranks fourth in the ACC in free-throw percentage (84.3). ... Duke's Jahlil Okafor has scored in double figures in 20 consecutive games, the second-longest double-digit scoring streak by a Blue Devils freshman (Johnny Dawkins, 23). ... Virginia is first in the ACC at 7-0, while Duke is tied for sixth at 4-3. ... Duke, which lost to Notre Dame on Wednesday, has lost back-to-back games in a season three times since the start of the 2009-10 campaign, and is 27-3 following a loss during that span.

Statistically speaking: Virginia (19-0) is off to its best start since the 1980-81 season (23-0), and the Cavaliers have won 14 games by 11 or more points. ... Duke is 66-15 when ranked No. 4 in the AP poll and 5-26 all-time against teams ranked No. 2 in poll. ... UVa. is 118-35 in nine seasons -- including a 10-0 in 2014-15 -- at John Paul Jones Arena. ... The Blue Devils have won 41 of their past 63 games when both teams have been ranked in the top 10 of the AP poll. ... Virginia is averaging 68.3 points and yielding a nation-leading (and modern era school-record) 49.2 points -- its best averages under head coach Tony Bennett. ... Duke is 0-3 on the year when the opposition shoots more than 50 percent from the field. ... The Cavaliers have held 43 consecutive opponents and 44 consecutive ACC foes under 50 percent shooting from the field. ... Duke is 3-1 this season against ranked opponents; all four games have been on the road. The Blue Devils have two road wins against AP top-10 opponents this season; Duke has never won three road contests against top-10 teams in a season. ... UVa. owns the nation’s seventh-longest home winning streak at 21 games (20 by double digits). Virginia’s streak is the longest in the ACC and the best in the conference since Duke’s 22-game home winning streak (2002-04).

Series history: Duke is 116-50 vs. Virginia, however the Cavaliers have won two of the past three games vs. Duke, including a 73-68 win behind Joe Harris' 36 points in the last meeting in Charlottesville in 2012-13.

Notebook: Virginia has held opponents scoreless for five or more minutes 19 times, and also has limited opponents without a field goal for eight or more minutes seven times, highlighted by Harvard for 19:53 on Dec. 21. ... Division I teams have been held under 30 points seven times this season, and Virginia is responsible for three: Rutgers (26), Harvard (27) and Georgia Tech (28). The last DI team to hold three opponents under 30 in a season was NC State in 1996-97. ... Duke's Jahlil Okafor and Justise Winslow and UVa.'s Tony Bennett and Mike Tobey helped Team USA to the gold medal at the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship in Prague, Czech Republic. ... A freshman has led the Blue Devils in scoring in 15 of 20 games. Jahlil Okafor has paced the offensive attack nine times, while Tyus Jones (4) and Justise Winslow (2) also have led Duke in scoring multiple times. The trio also has 13 of Duke’s 14 20-point games (Okafor 8, Jones 4, Winslow 1).
