Scholarship surprise

The ultimate goal for any walk-on is one day being awarded a full scholarship. Texas A&M players Boone Niederhofer and Brice Dolezal reached that goal on Monday, as coach Kevin Sumlin surprised the pair with the great news via a special video.

In front of the entire team, Sumlin showed a video that featured highlights of Niederhofer and Dolezal and graphics that showed the pair were walk-ons no more.

The moment is especially cool because of the reactions from Niederhofer and Dolezal, as well as their teammates. It’s clear that the two receiving scholarships means a lot to everyone on the team.

Niederhofer, a junior wide receiver, posted 29 catches for 293 yards and a touchdown last season. Dolezal, a senior running back, has amassed 253 yards rushing and a score on the ground during his college career.
